HVAC Sales Account Manager
Job Summary:
A reputable provider of mechanical services is currently seeking an individual to fill the position of HVAC Sales Account Manager. This role will be based in Hartford, CT and is designed for an individual who possesses excellent sales skills and a strong knowledge of HVAC commercial services. The selected candidate will report directly to the Service Sales Manager and will be responsible for identifying and establishing new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and providing tailored maintenance solutions. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in consultative selling techniques and have a demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth.
We are looking for a motivated individual who can effectively communicate our service offerings both in person and over the phone. The successful candidate will be capable of presenting customized solutions to each client’s specific mechanical and building system needs. Our goal is to offer customers reliable, cost-effective solutions while building long-term relationships based on trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within designated markets through a variety of strategies, including cold calling, networking, site visits, and industry events.
- Generate and manage leads, with a primary focus on planned maintenance agreements and service solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify potential business development opportunities and provide support for sales efforts.
- Analyze customer needs and recommend service options that align with their operational and financial objectives.
- Create and deliver compelling presentations to prospective clients, effectively communicating the value our services can provide.
- Prepare and review client proposals, ensuring accuracy in financial and technical aspects while adhering to company pricing models.
- Achieve sales targets by expanding market share and maintaining profitability within defined margin levels.
- Cultivate strong customer relationships by serving as the main point of contact for assigned accounts.
- Provide exceptional customer service from initial contact through post-sale follow-up, ensuring satisfaction and fostering long-term retention.
- Effectively manage time by prioritizing tasks and balancing client interactions with administrative responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Sales Manager.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma is required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the HVAC commercial service industry.
- At least 5 years of successful sales or technical field experience is required.
- Proven ability to develop and close sales while cultivating lasting client relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented with the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for client visits.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to sit, see, talk, hear, walk, and use hands to operate office equipment.
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. may be required.
- Frequent movement within office, warehouse, and client field locations.
Work Environment:
- Office-based role with frequent field visits to client sites, including construction environments.
- Some exposure to mechanical rooms, rooftop units, and active job sites may be required.
