Financial Analyst - Manufacturing

Our client, a reputable and expanding manufacturing company, is in need of a meticulous and reliable Financial Analyst to join their finance team. This role is crucial in maintaining precise financial records, supporting the monthly closing processes, and ensuring adherence to internal controls and accounting standards.

The ideal candidate should possess a comprehensive understanding of general accounting principles, prior experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments such as operations, procurement, and inventory management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Aid in month-end and year-end closing cycles, including the preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
  • Maintain accuracy of financial data and manage general ledger accounts
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets
  • Reconcile inventory and cost of goods sold accounts, working closely with plant operations and supply chain teams
  • Support the tracking of fixed assets and depreciation schedules
  • Assist in the development of standard costs and conducting variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting controls and provide support for external audits
  • Generate additional financial reports as needed to aid in decision-making
  • Collaborate with accounts payable and receivable teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain accuracy
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing relevant financial data and historical insights

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Thorough understanding of US GAAP and general ledger accounting
  • Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting is highly advantageous
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, JD Edwards, NetSuite, etc.) is preferred
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative mindset
