Our client is a leading mid-sized law firm with offices around the tri-state. They are currently seeking a full-time Accounting Assistant for their Uniondale, NY office (located in central Nassau county). This position will report to and assist the Accounting Manager. The role is a hybrid, with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, working from 9am to 5pm. The salary for this role is $50,000-60,000, depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Review and categorize vendor invoices with proper authorization.
- Enter vendor invoices into the Aderant accounting system.
- Process vendor payments, obtain check signatures, and mail out payments.
- Review vendor statements.
- Investigate payment inquiries.
- Research uncashed checks and issue replacements when necessary.
- Process journal entries.
- Assist with matter maintenance in Aderant.
- Record incoming wire transfers.
- Prepare check deposits and record them in Aderant.
- Process client credit card payments.
- Investigate incoming payments with no remittance information.
- Assist with trust/escrow activity.
- Handle ad hoc requests and special projects.
Experience:
- College degree or currently pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2+ years of accounting experience.
- Experience with Aderant or Chrome River is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
