Ammonia Refrigeration Technician – 2 positions

We are a well-established company located in Lebanon, IN, seeking highly skilled Ammonia Refrigeration Technicians to join our team. This is a direct hire opportunity in a plant environment. Our company has a dynamic and purpose-driven culture.

Shift:

  • Night shift - 6:15 PM - 6:45 AM
  • Work 4 days on, 4 days off

Compensation:

  • Starting pay is $34 per hour, plus shift differentials for night shifts (an additional $0.25 per hour for the 2nd shift and $0.30 per hour for the 3rd shift).
  • Overtime pay of time and a half for any hours worked over 8 hours in a day.
  • Our comprehensive benefits package includes relocation assistance.
  • The equivalent hourly rate when working a 12-hour shift with shift differentials is approximately $40.00.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Additional duties may be assigned.

  • Adhere to safety, PSM, environmental, SQF, and GMP policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge, judgment, and uphold high standards for quality of work.
  • Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, test, adjust, and maintain the facility's utilities systems.
  • Complete progressive Boiler and Ammonia Operator Training.
  • Effectively communicate (written and verbal) in all aspects of daily work.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and processes to maintain steady-state operations across multiple shifts.
  • Support weekly work order schedules as coordinated by Facilities Maintenance Planner.
  • Utilize CMMS (SAP PM) to accurately document and track work order hours and execution.
  • Assist in equipment maintenance and repairs with vendors and outside contractors.
  • Participate in daily shift change meetings and shutdown meetings.
  • Support Break-Down-Analysis (BDA) and 5S initiatives for assigned Facilities areas.
  • Ability to work overtime and/or flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of experience as a stationary engineer, in industrial maintenance, commercial HVAC, or equivalent military experience.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and repairing equipment and systems.
  • Must attend GCAP (or equivalent approved by Management) Boiler Tech 1 and successfully complete training within 6 months.
  • Must attend GCAP (or equivalent approved by Management) Ammonia operator 1 and obtain certification within 6 months.
  • Must attend GCAP (or equivalent approved by Management) Ammonia operator 2 and obtain certification within 12 months.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Highly mobile, with frequent walking on both flat surfaces and up/down stairs.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work on ladders, boom lifts, forklifts, and scissor lifts.
  • Must be able to work in a noisy environment with variable temperatures.
  • Must be able to pass annual respirator testing for PSM.
  • Must be willing to work in a union environment.
