Job Overview
As an Application Development Chemist, you will conduct formulation preparation, material characterizations, coating application, and comparative bench marking in a laboratory setting. You will develop a deep understanding of our product portfolio and its performance in coating applications, providing technical support to customers and collaborating with the Sales & Marketing team.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate newly developed resin systems and provide insight and direction to the R&D team.
- Manage projects and contribute to key business elements for commercialization.
- Develop a thorough understanding of our product portfolio, including technology, typical use, market trends, and value propositions.
- Assist in the development and organization of technical and environmental data, such as technical data sheets and brochures.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the Sales and Marketing teams.
- Represent the organization in relevant forums and conferences.
Required Skills and Experience
- 10-15 years of experience in product development, formulation, and structure-property relationships.
- Prior experience in a coatings and/or paint laboratory, including milling pigments, material characterizations, and coating application.
- Experience with solvent borne materials is desired.
- Polymer experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of automotive coatings is a plus.
- Understanding of laboratory safety protocols and equipment.
- Proficiency in experimental planning, data analysis, and report writing.
- Availability to travel domestically for up to 15% of the time.
Qualifications
- Master's or bachelor's degree in a scientific field, preferably chemistry (with a focus on polymer chemistry).
