Assistant Production Manager
OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking an Assistant Production Manager to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Assistant Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of our production facility, ensuring compliance with all regulations and maintaining safety and efficiency. This role will also serve as the acting Plant Manager when necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide daily guidance to the production team to ensure safe and efficient operation of facility equipment, meeting all regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and manage plant operations to maximize equipment availability, addressing any issues that may impact production goals.
- Evaluate and improve operational and maintenance processes for continuous improvement.
- Maintain a culture of adherence to established procedures and practices.
- Develop action plans to align employee conduct and accountability with operational processes.
- Investigate and resolve any forced outages or operating irregularities, recommending improvements for equipment reliability.
- Prepare necessary operation reports in a timely manner.
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of new production team members.
- Ensure proper safety training is provided to all team members.
- Contribute to the development of annual operating and capital budgets.
- Implement approved O&M activities within budget constraints.
- Develop and implement training programs for production staff.
- Oversee and optimize a comprehensive maintenance program.
- Plan and execute scheduled plant outages.
- Coordinate with asset management objectives for optimal plant operation.
- Complete any assigned special projects.
- Maintain consistent attendance and a valid driver's license.
REQUIREMENTS
The Assistant Production Manager must have a Bachelor's Degree, along with extensive experience in power plant operations, including supervision and maintenance. Knowledge of NERC regulations and gas turbine operations is preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are required.
