Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Deputy Program Director for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program. The Deputy Program Director will report to the Director of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program and will be responsible for assisting in the coordination and monitoring of nursing faculty and vocational nursing students. The ideal candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and critically. Essential Functions:
Advancing the university's and program's mission and objectives through systematic evaluation of student learning and advancement of outcomes.
Overseeing faculty recruitment, qualifications, development, and evaluation in accordance with institutional and accreditation guidelines.
Providing leadership to the faculty in the development, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of the program's curriculum plan.
Administering the day-to-day operation of the program, including student advisement and clinical education.
Monitoring and implementing strategies to improve NCLEX performance using ATI resources.
Ensuring compliance with institutional and accreditation guidelines in all program publications.
Communicating and representing the program with accreditation commissions and agencies.

Qualifications

  • A master's or higher degree from an accredited college or university, with coursework in nursing, education or administration.
  • Two years' experience teaching in registered nursing programs before or after licensure.
  • One year of continuous, full-time or equivalent experience in direct patient care as a registered nurse.
  • Previous experience in a college-level educational setting.
  • A valid, active license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Action-oriented with innovative thinking and flexibility.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work within a deadline-oriented environment.
