Assistant Program Coordinator

Job Description

We are seeking an Assistant Program Coordinator to join our team in Sacramento, CA.

This role will collaborate with and operate under the guidance of the Campus Program Coordinator for the Vocational Nursing Program.

  • Assist the Coordinator in planning, developing, managing, updating, and evaluating all aspects of the program.
  • Help prepare data and written materials for state and Board requirements, reports, proposals, self-studies, surveys, and site visits.
  • Identify and acquire external resources for the nursing program.
  • Evaluate the agency's ability to provide relevant clinical experiences aligned with theoretical and clinical course objectives.
  • Ensure completion and approval of Facility Approval Applications prior to initiating clinical rotations.
  • Ensure timely completion of student theory and clinical evaluations by assigned faculty.
  • Maintain evaluations by students, clinical site representatives, and faculty after each clinical rotation.
  • Assist in strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives to ensure program quality.
  • Continuously work towards improving the quality of instruction.
  • Create and maintain clinical assignments, rotation matrixes, and calendars in a timely manner.
  • Ensure faculty consistently adheres to policies and guidelines regarding student clinical rotation experiences.
  • Regularly review student learning materials.
  • Maintain student records according to policies.
  • Submit required program reports and forms to the Program Coordinator in a timely manner.
  • Stay updated with new technologies and safety regulations.
  • Provide advising support and assistance to potential students.
  • Ensure all students have completed necessary documentation and meet graduation and state licensing exam requirements.
  • Teach half of the time, either theory or clinical.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required.


  • Must possess a master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university (including coursework in nursing, education, or administration).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in leadership roles within a nursing program.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of full-time faculty experience in pre- or post-licensure nursing programs.
  • At least one (1) year of experience teaching in an online teaching and learning environment.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of continuous full-time experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care in geriatrics, medical-surgical, mental health psychiatric nursing, obstetrics, or pediatrics within the past five (5) years.
  • Valid and active license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).
  • Strong written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
  • Action-oriented with innovative thinking and flexibility.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work within deadline-oriented environments.
