Defense Litigation Associate

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Job Description

  • Act as the primary attorney on civil litigation defense cases
  • Oversee all aspects of litigation, including discovery, depositions, court appearances, mediations, and pre-trial prep
  • Work closely with partners and clients to develop and resolve cases
  • Draft legal documents such as motions and correspondence
  • Occasionally participate in trial preparation and proceedings
  • Regularly communicate with clients to update them on case progress
  • Utilize a legal assistant for administrative support

Qualifications

  • Must be licensed to practice law in California
  • Minimum of 4 years of civil litigation experience (plaintiff or defense side)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with court rules, calendaring, and civil procedure in state and federal courts
  • Ability to independently manage caseload and meet billable hour requirements
