Job Responsibilities
- Act as the primary attorney on civil litigation defense cases
- Handle all stages of litigation, including discovery, depositions, court appearances, mediations, and pre-trial preparation
- Collaborate with partners and clients to develop case strategies and achieve resolutions
- Draft legal documents such as motions and correspondence
- Participate in trial preparation and proceedings as needed
- Regularly update clients on case progress
- Utilize a legal assistant for administrative assistance
Requirements
- Active California law license
- Minimum of 1 year of civil litigation experience (plaintiff or defense side)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with court rules, calendaring, and civil procedure in state and federal courts
- Ability to independently manage caseloads and meet billable hour targets
