POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This is a full-time role based in Hempstead, NY for an Associate Attorney specializing in personal injury cases in New York State.

• Manage a caseload, including attending court hearings, negotiating settlements, overseeing trial preparation, conducting trials, and participating in mediations and arbitrations.
• Inform clients about claim liability and legal rights and interpret relevant laws, rulings, and regulations.
• Conduct depositions and respond to discovery demands.
• Demonstrate the ability to conduct discovery proceedings and draft motions.
• Gather evidence to initiate and support legal actions, including interviewing clients and witnesses to gather facts about cases.
• Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presenting cases.
• Stay updated on industry knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.

MAIN REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in representing plaintiffs in personal injury cases.
• Trial experience is advantageous but not required.
• Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
• Must possess a valid license to practice law in New York State.

Salary range is between $110,000 and $130,000, with an additional 40% commission on all settled cases originating from the attorney. Plus, the firm offers attractive benefits.
