General Audit Manager

General Summary of Position:
As the General Audit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing client assignments and projects, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service. This role involves coaching, advising, and supporting team members in meeting client and self-development expectations. You will be responsible for managing financial statement audits and accounting engagements, as well as monitoring engagement progress in relation to budgets and deadlines.
You will also be accountable for managing client relationships within your area of expertise and for the clients assigned to you.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Understanding and leading teams to meet performance expectations.
  • Demonstrating a deep understanding of the firm's structure, its people, the services provided, and the clients served.
  • Striving to exceed effective utilization rates and monitoring the progress of assignment teams in achieving utilization rates.
  • Being aware of client targets and proposal initiatives across the firm, actively contributing to the sales/proposal process.
  • Leveraging resources to maximize profitability.
  • Actively participating in talent recruitment initiatives, including career and recruitment forums, conducting interviews, and engaging with potential recruits.
  • Maintaining regular and reliable attendance, putting in necessary hours to meet client demands during busy seasons.
  • Planning, organizing, and coordinating multiple responsibilities and resources to achieve assignment objectives.
  • Providing team direction to ensure assignment quality standards are met.
  • Managing assignment budgets, communicating budget issues, identifying opportunities to improve assignment profitability, preparing billings, and assisting in cash collections.
  • Aiming for a total chargeable hours goal of 1,650 hours.
  • Enhancing realization in client engagements.
  • Participating in business development opportunities.
  • Engaging in people development initiatives.
  • Expertly planning and managing projects, establishing timelines for deliverables, and consistently delivering quality work within budget and on time.
  • Developing a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of tools, systems, and processes within your discipline, and effectively applying them.
  • Proactively anticipating problems and barriers, contributing to the development of plans to address them.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.
  • CPA certification required.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive audit experience in public accounting or a related field.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
  • Ability to identify key stakeholders in decision-making processes and build effective working relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills, maintaining integrity in client interactions during the sales process, and ensuring clients have all the necessary information to make informed decisions.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Always alert to opportunities to provide additional services to clients.
  • Active participation in talent recruitment initiatives, including career and recruitment forums, conducting interviews, and engaging with potential candidates.
