Automation/Controls Technician/Installer

Our client is looking for an experienced Automation/Controls Technician/Installer to support Building Automation System (BAS) installations. This position involves mounting control components, installing low voltage wiring, performing terminations, conducting system start-ups, and troubleshooting systems. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with building automation systems, hold a CT E2 or L6 License, and demonstrate the ability to deliver high-quality installations and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • BAS Installation:
    • Mount and install control components, such as sensors, thermostats, and controllers, as part of Building Automation System (BAS) installations.
    • Install conduit, low voltage wiring, and perform terminations according to project specifications.
  • System Start-Up and Checkout:
    • Conduct system start-ups to verify proper functioning and calibration of all components.
    • Perform system testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
    • Diagnose and repair issues with BAS components, wiring, and controls.
    • Respond promptly to service calls for troubleshooting and system repairs.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to ensure timely and accurate installations.
    • Communicate with clients and provide project progress updates.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure installations comply with local codes and regulations, particularly electrical codes.
    • Follow all safety protocols during installations, testing, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

  • Licensing and Certification:
    • Must possess a valid CT E2 or L6 License.
    • Additional certifications in building automation or electrical systems are advantageous.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in installing and maintaining Building Automation Systems (BAS).
    • Experience with low voltage wiring, system start-up, and troubleshooting is essential.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and system specifications.
    • Solid knowledge of building automation systems, HVAC controls, and electrical systems.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and effectively resolve system malfunctions.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
