Salary: $80-115K plus bonus

Job Summary of the Automation Engineer: You will analyze requirements in controls and electrical engineering to find and design technical and business solutions for projects that involve capital investment. You will establish success criteria for system requirements and choose equipment that best meets cost, schedule, and performance needs. Additionally, you will create controls and electrical equipment standards, methods, and designs to adhere to quality and safety standards, particularly for processing, filling, and packaging applications. This role involves working in a collaborative technical team environment.

Job Responsibilities of the Automation Engineer:

· Lead projects from start to finish.

· Create comprehensive and concise project submittal packages to ensure project success.

· Evaluate physical locations and general arrangement placements, assess infrastructure requirements.

· Report to the Plant Engineering Manager and collaborate with the Project Manager to estimate initial capital and expense costs.

· Create a design schedule in coordination with the Engineering Project Manager to meet overall project schedule requirements and system performance criteria.

· Write detailed functional control and electrical descriptions for unit operations.

· Independently manage and coordinate projects.

· Collaborate effectively in a team environment.

· Participate in and conduct experiments during plant trials.

· Present both written and oral technical reports to supervisor.

· Interpret, develop, and distribute technical specifications.

· Develop expertise in processing, filling, and packaging operating systems for designated areas.

· Possess fundamental understanding of a food manufacturing environment.

· Stay updated on the latest food packaging technology and its commercial applications.

Education & Experience of the Automation Engineer:

· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Robotics Engineering (with an emphasis on controls for processing, packaging, and filling equipment design and electrical aspects).

· Specific emphasis on controls engineering is required.

· 2-7 years of experience in control system design.

· Preferably, a background in food manufacturing.

· Proficient in using AutoCAD software for electrical schematics.

· Strong technical understanding of manufacturing systems and equipment.

· Experience working with Rockwell Controls and/or GE, as well as networking experience, is preferred.

· Ability to thrive in a highly complex facility with automation and upcoming projects utilizing AI technology.

· Detail-oriented and capable of working effectively in a team environment.
