Salary: $95-120K plus bonus

Job Summary of the Automation Manager: The Automation Manager is responsible for overseeing process improvement and automation initiatives in the Assembly and Manufacturing areas. This role involves managing projects to enhance operational efficiency across production cells.

Job Responsibilities of the Automation Manager:

  • Obtaining quotes for capital expenditures
  • Creating and maintaining process documentation to ensure proper manufacturing methods
  • Being a change agent focused on achieving results and possessing effective business systems thinking
  • Assisting with product/process design for new/existing manufacturing processes and methods
  • Providing training assistance on operations and preventative maintenance for installed equipment
  • Interacting with individuals within and external to the company
  • Being computer proficient and knowledgeable in necessary software applications
  • Leading and managing production process improvement projects
  • Staying up-to-date with future technologies used in the field
  • Collaborating with the Process Improvement Committee to select strategic process improvement projects
  • Programming programmable controllers/machines used in manufacturing processes, including PLCs, robots, CNC machines, inspection equipment, etc.
  • Evaluating the feasibility of production improvement projects in terms of reducing labor and/or materials while maintaining product quality
  • Maintaining manufacturing-related documentation and information
  • Integrating improved processes with other business activities and projects upon completion of process improvement projects
  • Supporting and complying with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and ISO 14001 requirements
  • Staying informed about government requirements and regulations to ensure compliance

Education & Experience of the Automation Manager:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related technical field preferred
  • 5-8 years of project management and/or technical experience desired
  • Project management skills to ensure successful project execution
  • Strong knowledge and experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing processes, automation, PLC programming, robotics, robotic programming, OSHA standards, and electrical/pneumatic controls
  • Competence in data analysis, cost analysis, and problem-solving techniques
  • Ability to create and deliver procedures, instructions, diagrams, etc.
  • Ability to ensure production processes meet safety, efficiency, reliability, and capability targets
  • Proficiency in using systems/software to organize work progress
  • Ability to collaborate and produce innovative solutions
