Location: East Point, GA

An established company with a significant share of the U.S. market in their manufacturing industry is seeking an Automation / Robotics Technician in the East Point, GA area. This position is available due to the company's growth in robotic installations for the assembly process. The technician will work in a plant environment during day shift from 8:00am – 4:30pm with the potential for up to 10 hours of paid overtime per week. The company offers a competitive benefits package, including a 401K plan with a 100% match to 5% and a generous performance-based bonus. Relocation assistance is also available. The manufacturing environment includes die casting, stamping, and assembly processes. The company utilizes Fanuc, ABB, and UR robots, as well as Allen Bradley PLCs. This role is likely a Level III position, requiring a minimum of 5 years of experience.


The Automation/Robotics Technician will participate in the design and installation of automated equipment in a plant environment. This position requires a mix of mechanical, electrical, and facilities support skills. The technician will be responsible for configuring, testing, operating, maintaining, servicing, and troubleshooting robots and other automated systems used in production, with the goal of improving efficiency and longevity of the equipment.


  1. Level I
    1. Work with pneumatics and principles of compressed air.
    2. Work with hydraulics and principles of fluid mechanics.
    3. Work with circuits from 120 to 480 volts and perform other electrical tasks.
    4. Assist in the construction of robotic equipment and collaborate with engineers.
    5. Test robotic systems to ensure proper functioning.
  2. Level II (Includes Level I responsibilities)
    1. Layout and install plumbing systems and interpret isometric drawings.
    2. Use electrical test equipment to take voltage and current readings and conduct ohm testing.
    3. Install and program robotic equipment in a manufacturing facility.
    4. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with robotic equipment.
  3. Level III (Includes Level I & II responsibilities)
    1. Install air logic controls from prints or schematics.
    2. Troubleshoot hydraulic circuits and components.
    3. Troubleshoot PLC systems using a computer.
    4. Install, program, or repair programmable controllers, robot controllers, and conveyors.
    5. Utilize knowledge of fabrication equipment for maintenance tasks.
    6. Operate robotics equipment and analyze equipment performance.
    7. Collaborate with engineers and production team to achieve desired output.
    8. Conduct preventative maintenance and repair robotic machines and tools.
    9. Disassemble and reassemble robots to repair or replace defective parts.
    10. Train others on robot installation, use, and service.


  1. Level I - High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Level II - High school diploma, two to four years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  3. Level III - Technical training certificates or associate degree, six to eight years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  4. Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  5. Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
  6. Ability to define problems and collect data.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach, climb, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands/arms and lift up to 50 lbs.


The work environment is typically loud and may involve exposure to extreme heat, high places, outdoor weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical shock, and vibration.
