The role of the Bridge Supervisor is critical in overseeing construction projects and ensuring the completion of all work in Fargo, ND, with a commitment to safety and excellence. They will be actively involved in the construction process, managing daily operations, and maintaining project timelines.

In this position, the Supervisor will prioritize safety by leading through example, educating the team, and enforcing the best practices and company policies. They will determine the appropriate crew size and equipment required to align costs with estimates, promptly order materials to prevent delays, and effectively utilize weekly planning meetings to stay ahead. With a comprehensive understanding of budgets, costs, contract drawings, and specifications, they will guide the team to construct accurately and efficiently. The Supervisor will maintain organization by completing one task before moving on, keeping the site clean, and documenting any additional work for review. They will also ensure proper maintenance of company tools and vehicles, make sound decisions regarding rental equipment, and submit timely reports such as timesheets and diaries.

Collaboration will be vital, as the Supervisor will work harmoniously with other supervisors and team members. They will identify and address safety risks, such as falls or excavation issues, and ensure that safety gear is used correctly. Additionally, they will ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and coordination with contractors to align on project goals.

To be eligible for this position, candidates must have at least 5 years of experience as a Supervisor, specifically in bridge construction, which includes expertise in structural concrete, forming, pouring, and finishing. They should have successfully led crews of 4 or more individuals, possess strong skills in reading plans and schedules, and excel in giving clear directions. Extensive knowledge of job-site safety, as well as proficiency in record-keeping and reporting, is essential. A valid driver’s license is a requirement, and flexibility to take on additional tasks as needed is expected.
