Facilities Maintenance Technician

Our client is in search of a skilled and reliable Building Maintenance Technician to join their team in Branford, CT. This role involves the upkeep and servicing of multiple properties across Connecticut. The main responsibilities include performing routine maintenance tasks, ensuring the safety and functionality of our facilities. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively manage tasks across various locations.
Key Duties:
  • General Maintenance: Carry out routine inspections and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Repairs: Fix fixtures, equipment, and structural components, such as doors, windows, drywall, and flooring.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Establish and implement scheduled maintenance tasks to ensure optimal functioning of equipment and systems.
  • Emergency Response: Promptly respond to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize downtime and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain adequate inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies required for maintenance tasks.
  • Recordkeeping: Document maintenance and repair activities, including inspections, repairs, and preventative tasks.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with site managers, contractors, and vendors for specialized repairs and projects.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Building Maintenance Technician or in a similar role, preferably in a multi-site setting.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, EPA, or electrical) are highly desirable.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.
  • Transportation: Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license for travel between sites.
  • Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call availability for emergencies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) and maintenance software.
