Position: Business Development Manager - Irrigation District
Location: Colorado – Also considering UT, WY, and NE for the right candidate
An irrigation company that specializes in integrated water management systems is seeking a sales professional to target irrigation districts in Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Utah.
The Business Development Manager will focus on driving growth in the Rocky Mountain irrigation sector by selling customized irrigation management solutions to districts, growers, and engineering firms.
The individual hired will lead consultative sales efforts and identify new market opportunities by engaging key stakeholders to deliver sustainable and valuable outcomes.
Ideal candidates should have experience in selling water infrastructure solutions within these specific markets. An engineering or technical degree is required, as the individual will need to be hands-on.
Responsibilities
·Responsible for selling the company's irrigation solutions to irrigation districts, growers, and engineering companies within the territory
·Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities
·Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry partners, and customers
·Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth
·Maintain and report on sales activities, pipeline development, and market feedback
·Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer pain points to expand the company's presence
- Lead the design and scoping of engineering solutions
- Deliver impactful sales presentations and technical demonstrations
- Extensive travel within the territory
Education and Experience
·Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline, or equivalent experience
·3-5 years of experience in a similar role with strong knowledge of irrigation systems
·Previous sales experience in the target market (irrigation districts, growers, engineering)
·Demonstrated success in sales
·Experience with consultative sales approach
·Strong job tenure is essential
