Division Manager

Location: Indianapolis, IN

The position of Division Manager in Indianapolis, IN requires accountability for the department's performance in production, safety, and quality to meet operating objectives. The main goal is to drive efficiency and profitability while maximizing return on assets. This position is also responsible for managing technologies and developing and training team members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fully accountable for the Manufacturing P&L of the area.
  • Ensure successful engineering of all lines and processes, while maintaining compliance with engineering standards for safe, quality products at optimal cost.
  • Provide operational perspective during new product development to support product innovation.
  • Develop and lead the team to solve day-to-day operational issues, achieve performance goals, and maintain high morale.
  • Lead a team of 80 to 100 hourly Manufacturing associates with various levels of experience and education.
  • Improve processes and reduce production costs through automation.
  • Make product quality, line throughput, and asset care top priorities.
  • Guide team members to use analytical methods for problem solving on the floor.
  • Maintain a cultural identity of being friendly, competent, and available.
  • Manage staffing requirements and oversee the hiring, training, and development of new employees to build a strong talent bench.
  • Foster a continuous improvement environment that exceeds company expectations.
  • Set clear performance and behavioral expectations for employees and provide feedback on results.
  • Identify and eliminate losses to improve safety, quality, costs, inventory, and time.
  • Achieve objectives related to productivity, quality, cost, delivery, safety, and motivation Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to perform physical tasks such as climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Must have visual acuity for accurate documentation.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 10 years in Operations Leadership and/or Engineering roles.
  • Strong technical background in high speed processing systems, controls, and automation.
  • Experience in a food grade environment (FDA, GMP's, HACCP) is highly preferred.
  • Experience in managing and improving manufacturing costs and productivity programs.
  • Preferably have a BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • MBA or related graduate degree is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, knowledge of process improvement, and strategic thinking ability.
  • Experience in managing people and building a collaborative cross-functional team.
