Construction Project Engineer
Location: Memphis, TN
Our client is seeking a skilled Construction Project Engineer to join their team. This Fortune 500 food manufacturing company, based in Memphis, TN, represents some of the most well-known brands in the industry. With a strong commitment to food safety, they are now looking for a Senior Project Engineer to lead projects in this area.
Qualifications:
- Must have an engineering degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management
- Experience in food manufacturing
Responsibilities:
- Develop scopes of work, user requirements, project plans, budgets, and cost controls
- Participate in and/or lead improvement teams to meet plant and SBA objectives
- Write project charters and project funding requests
- Provide technical leadership within cross-functional teams
- Lead options analysis for project technology decisions and process changes
- Develop engineering deliverables for project definition, execution, and start-up
- Participate in food safety audits and assist in audits of other sites
- Identify, develop, and execute improvement projects
- Interact with vendors, develop equipment specifications, and perform equipment testing
- Develop self and others, including technicians, managers, and engineers
- Identify and address opportunities to improve food safety within the facilities
- Collaborate and build relationships within plant, SBA, and corporate resources
- Ensure site adherence to food safety standards from a mechanical and structural perspective
- Own a safety system and a Quality Key Element System at the site
- Travel to other sites and vendors as needed
Additional skills and experience that would be advantageous:
- Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering degree
- People management or team leadership experience
- Familiarity with Initiative Management (IM) Pillar tools
- Experience with daily management systems for quality and food safety
