SUMMARY:
The Cardiac Cath Lab / Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology Tech performs and assists in various patient care procedures under the supervision of physicians. This includes pre, intra, and post cardiac, vascular, and interventional procedures. The ideal candidate will demonstrate critical thinking skills to ensure safe and high-quality care for adult and geriatric patients. They will also document accurately and in a timely manner, communicate effectively with other healthcare team members, and adhere to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and professional practice standards.
The Cardiac Cath Lab / Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology Tech performs and assists in various patient care procedures under the supervision of physicians. This includes pre, intra, and post cardiac, vascular, and interventional procedures. The ideal candidate will demonstrate critical thinking skills to ensure safe and high-quality care for adult and geriatric patients. They will also document accurately and in a timely manner, communicate effectively with other healthcare team members, and adhere to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and professional practice standards.
SOME RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Assisting physicians in invasive procedures such as cardiac catheterization, vascular angiograms, and pacemaker implants
- Assessing and documenting patient history information, including clinical presentation, vital signs, allergies, and current medications
- Starting and maintaining IV access and oxygen administration
- Utilizing sterile technique
- Providing post-procedure and discharge instructions to patients and their caregivers
- Developing and analyzing action plans for procedures
- Performing glucometer testing and EKG monitoring
- Operating radiographic equipment and producing specialized images
- Administering prescribed medications under physician supervision
- Delivering safe interventions to address patient needs
- Collaborating and communicating effectively with team members and healthcare providers
- Providing relevant healthcare education and instructions to patients and their families
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:- Assisting physicians in invasive procedures such as cardiac catheterization, vascular angiograms, and pacemaker implants
- Assessing and documenting patient history information, including clinical presentation, vital signs, allergies, and current medications
- Starting and maintaining IV access and oxygen administration
- Utilizing sterile technique

- Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program with knowledge in anatomy, physiology, radiation physics, and interpersonal communication skills
- Current radiographer license from the State of Ohio Department of Health and A.R.R.T. registry as an R.T.
- Preferred advanced registry from A.R.R.T. in Cardiovascular, Cardiac Intervention, or Vascular Intervention
- Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification
- ACLS certification required within one year
- Preferred Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification
ADDITIONAL INFO:- Current radiographer license from the State of Ohio Department of Health and A.R.R.T. registry as an R.T.
- Preferred advanced registry from A.R.R.T. in Cardiovascular, Cardiac Intervention, or Vascular Intervention
- Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification

The department has a highly skilled team and a well-respected director. This is a full-time position with working hours between 8am-5:30pm, on-call rotation one day a week, and every 4th weekend. Compensation ranges from $60k-$90k based on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package is provided.
