What we are looking for:

• Must have a valid license in the State of Ohio as RCIS; RT(R, CV). Preferably, three years of experience in catheterization.
• Current ACLS certification is required, and maintaining current BLS certification is essential.

Hours and compensation potential:

• This is a full-time day shift position from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. On-call duty is rotated for evenings and weekends and requires a 30-minute response time. If needed, call rooms are available.
• The salary range starts at $26.74 per hour up to $36.33 per hour, depending on experience. On-call pay is $4 per hour. If called in, you will receive 1.5 times your hourly rate (with a minimum pay of 1 hour).
• In addition to competitive compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package and a $10,000 retention bonus. The bonus is payable in three installments at 6 months, 9 months, and 1 year, based on a two-year agreement.

What you will be doing:

• Provide professional and highly technical cardiovascular care to all cardiovascular patients, while assisting physicians during procedures.
• Act as a liaison for patients, families, and physicians. Assist physicians in operating technical equipment during procedures.
• Set up cardiac catheterization procedure rooms by providing necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of equipment used in procedures, pressure monitoring, cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, EKG interpretation, sterile technique, and radiation safety practices.
• Be proficient in scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring for all Cath Lab procedures.
• Inspect and prepare the operating area as necessary.
• Communicate relevant procedural information to physicians and ancillary personnel.
• Adhere to sterile technique and ensure proper disposal of infected materials.
• Record EKG information, samples, and pressure tracings. Inform appropriate personnel of changes during procedures. Maintain complete documentation of cardiovascular procedures and ensure completion of all registry abstracts. Prepare patients for emergency coronary artery bypass graft.
• Document all medications given, contrast injections, vessel modification attempts, and other pertinent information regarding procedures.
• Respond to emergency situations appropriately and call for assistance as needed. Provide post-catheterization information to patients and their significant others.
• Assist cardiologists during procedures by supplying equipment and anticipating routine and special needs.
• Assist in cleaning up the room after cases and preparing it for the next case.
• Perform digital imaging techniques and maintain archival storage of digitized data.
• Collect and enter correct information required for ACC Data Submission.
• Demonstrate knowledge of all supplies and assist with tracking supplies used for proper billing and inventory control.
• Collaborate with other members of the health team to determine and achieve healthcare goals. Comprehend cardiac pharmacology.
• Attain a working knowledge of troubleshooting Cath Lab job-related equipment.
• Remove arterial and venous sheaths and complete documentation. Stay updated on closure devices and assist with their deployment and post-care.
