What we are seeking:
• Must hold a certification as a Central Service Technician from a nationally recognized organization, or be able to obtain one within one year of hire
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification is required

Hours and compensation:
• This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with three available shifts: 1) 10am-6:30pm 2) 11am-7:30pm 3) 12pm-8:30pm (on-call required every 4th weekend)
• Compensation ranges between $19/hr and $28/hr, depending on experience, and comes with benefits. We also offer a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Your responsibilities:
• Perform and actively participate in decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, sterilization, scanning, storage, and distribution of reusable instruments and equipment.
• Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, regulatory/accrediting body requirements, and professional practice standards (e.g., OSHA, CDC, AAMI, AORW, IAHCSMM, and The Joint Commission).
• Demonstrate competency in identifying all specialty instruments, supplies, and equipment unique to surgical services.
• Monitor the usage of supplies in the Central Sterile area and adjust par levels as necessary.
• Carry out decontamination, cleaning, reprocessing, and sterilizing duties according to standards and manufacturer's recommendations.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Identify, inspect, order, receive, process, store, disassemble, clean, decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and distribute sterile instruments.
• Properly load and unload sterilized items.
• Maintain accurate sterilization records.
• Reprocess endoscopes according to manufacturer's recommendations.
• Perform routine biological testing of sterilization equipment.
• Verify functionality of instruments, requisition repairs or replacements with Department Director approval, and remove defective instruments from service.
• Track instrumentation out for repair and collaborate with Perioperative Supply and Equipment Specialist to arrange loaner equipment as necessary.
• Provide in-services and act as a resource to staff regarding new instruments.
