Qualifications:
  • Must possess a Master's degree in Divinity or a related field.
  • Completion of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is required.
  • Certification or eligibility for certification as a board-certified chaplain by the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC).
  • Demonstrates commitment to the values, ethics, and mission of the APC, NACC, and the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Services.

Hours and Compensation:
  • This is a full-time position.
  • Compensation ranges from $24.50 per hour to $33.50 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Full benefits package provided, along with up to $1,000 for relocation assistance.

Responsibilities:
  • As a Spiritual Advisor, you will work as a vital member of the interdisciplinary team, offering spiritual support, guidance, and advocacy to patients, their families, and staff. You will also provide education on Advanced Directives, ethics, spirituality, religion, and bereavement.
  • Excellent communication skills, including active listening and responsive communication, are essential.
  • You should have a strong understanding and respect for religious, spiritual, and cultural diversity.
  • Active involvement in self-evaluation processes and a solid understanding of crisis intervention theory are important.
  • Utilizing your knowledge of Advanced Directives, you will educate, assist, and support individuals in making ethical decisions.
  • Having strong advocacy, negotiation, counseling, and facilitation skills is crucial for conducting family conferences.
  • You should be willing to collaborate with leaders and representatives from all faith groups.
  • Working effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care is essential.
  • Being alert to and helping in resolving ethical issues is a key aspect of this role.
