Process Engineer

Location: Mobile, AL
MUST HAVE CHEMICAL PLANT EXPERIENCE

Job Summary:
The position of Process Engineer is available at our Mobile, AL location. As a Chemical/Production Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting all production activities by implementing innovative ideas to improve safety/environmental standards, quality control, production cost control, material yield, and process operability. In addition, you will also assume the responsibilities of department manager as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Monitor and analyze process performance, identifying areas for improvement in process control, quality control, cost reduction, operability, and yield.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations (PSM) and all other company policies affecting employee safety and environmental concerns.
• Provide technical support for the development, start-up, and optimization of new or modified production processes.
• Assist in the creation and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with them.
• Maintain open communication with operators, technical support, and management to address and resolve any issues impacting safety, quality, environment, and operational efficiency.
• Conduct training sessions for production personnel as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Solid understanding of chemical engineering principles and processes.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental compliance, with a general understanding of ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.
• Ability to thrive in a high-paced and occasionally stressful work environment.
• Ability to gain trust and commitment from all levels of the organization to effectively manage day-to-day operations.
• Proficient in analytical chemistry techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems.
• Willingness to travel (approximately 10% of the time, both domestically and internationally).
• Proficiency in using spreadsheet and database software for data compilation, analysis, and presentation.
• Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with CAD and SAP.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
• Master’s degree in chemical engineering is a plus.
• 3-5 years of experience in a production, research, or design environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Professional Engineer License is a plus.
