Finance Director

Location: Morgantown, WV
Job Summary
The Finance Director is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting aspects of the Company, including its affiliates. Reporting directly to the CEO and supporting the CCO, this role involves managing financial controls, reporting, treasury, banking relationships, tax compliance, risk management, and real estate management. The Finance Director will also prepare financial and operating reports, develop business guidelines and procedures, and oversee Profit and Loss management and balance sheet activities for the power plant.

- Develop and recommend economic strategies, objectives, and policies for the Company
- Manage the accounting and finance department, including the Controller, Financial Analysts, Accounting staff, and Shareholder Administration
- Implement and administer accounting policies, procedures, and practices to ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting of operating results
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reports with detailed variance explanations
- Analyze and propose solutions for enhanced business unit performance
- Prepare budgets and forecasts in coordination with departmental managers
- Manage audits and regulatory reporting requirements
- Prepare tax filings and advise on operational adjustments due to tax code revisions
- Maintain compliance requirements report for major contracts and credit agreements

Interfaces and Supporting Responsibilities
- Support CCO and plant management team by providing information and analyses
- Manage treasury functions, including credit facilities and cash management
- Administer equity list and transfers for shareholders
- Participate in the implementation and management of enterprise asset and resource planning systems
- Direct and manage risk management process, including hedge activities and insurance programs

Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance, or related fields
- MBA or CPA required
- 10 years of relevant experience
- Energy plant operating experience, banking relationship management, and private equity experience preferred
- Comprehensive understanding of GAAP
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, CMMS, and Accounting & Reporting Software
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Self-starter who pays attention to detail and can work with little supervision
- Strong personnel management skills
