YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managing projects related to land development, civil site engineering, and infrastructure. In this role, you will conduct preliminary site assessments, produce reports, create design and construction drawings, prepare technical specifications, and submit permits for land development projects.
- Designing plans and strategies in civil engineering for review and approval by clients
- Supervising and creating project plans and studies
- Developing and maintaining client relationships to generate new project opportunities
- Analyzing reports, maps, surveys, tests, and photographs to plan and design projects
- Providing technical advice on design, construction, and program modification
- Regularly assessing designs for project feasibility, quantity estimates, and constructability
- Collaborating with public agencies to obtain support, permits, and project approval
- Assisting in on-site inspections to monitor construction progress and compliance with design specifications
- Reading and interpreting construction plans to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, contractors, and the public
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering: Professional Engineer (PE), Engineer in Training (EIT), or Designer/CAD Technician (experience in site layout, grading, erosion control, water and sewer utilities, and stormwater management...)
- South Carolina PE/EIT license (or eligibility to acquire) – Designers with skill will be mentored
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydrology software (Hydraflow, StormCAD, or similar tools)
- Experience in stormwater management, including designing detention ponds, infiltration systems, drainage systems, and familiarity with the SCDHEC Stormwater standards
- Familiarity with the entitlement process in South Carolina is a plus
