Our client is in search of a skilled Quality Assurance Specialist/Inspection Technician to join a leading manufacturing firm. This is a Direct Placement opportunity. The ideal candidate for this position should possess 4-6 years of experience in quality inspection, specializing in First Article Inspection (FAI) and competent in operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct precision component inspections using CMM.
  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) as well as in-process and final inspections, adhering to engineering specifications and customer requirements.
  • Utilize measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, and height gauges with precision.
  • Comprehend and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to guarantee product conformity.
  • Create and maintain inspection reports, certifications, and compliance records.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve quality-related matters.
  • Maintain compliance with quality standards including AS9100, ISO 9001, and other applicable standards.
  • Assist in conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to address non-conformances.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding quality standards and FAI documentation.
  • Undertake additional quality assurance assignments as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must have 4-6 years of relevant experience in First Article Inspection (FAI) and CMM operations within an aerospace or precision manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in CMM programming (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Adept in utilizing measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
  • Capability to comprehend and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Attentive to detail with strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the capacity to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional technical training or certifications are preferred.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 30 pounds.
