Salary: $20-25/hour
Job Summary of the Machining Technician: The Machining Technician is responsible for utilizing blueprints and work instructions to produce accurate work products that meet quality standards, safety requirements, and allotted run times. They must also meet efficiency and productivity goals, minimize waste, and maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
Job Responsibilities of the Machining Technician:
- Become familiar with the complete scope and proposed method of design for all assigned projects.
- Review blueprints, work instructions, and the production schedule to achieve product specifications and allotted run times.
- Accurately record work in process, job details, labor, and attendance information using designated computer systems.
- Work efficiently, produce work with minimal waste, and complete work according to budgeted labor hours.
- Select proper equipment and materials, verify integrity, and maintain specifications through work process observation and adjustment.
- Use gauges, hand tools, and precision measurement tools for product validation and inspection.
- Report any mistakes or issues that negatively impact operations, both internally and externally.
- Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce job costing, and shorten run times.
- Perform regular monitoring and service checks on tools and equipment.
- Maintain a clean work area and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
- Work independently or collaborate with colleagues to complete orders.
Education & Experience of the Machining Technician:
• High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associates degree in CNC Machining, Tool & Die Making, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of six (6) months combined experience and education in a manufacturing environment required.
• Experience as a CNC Operator (Mills & Lathes) or Multi-Axis CNC Operator.
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving ability required.
• Ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work well in a team or individual setting required.
• Attention to detail and strong mechanical aptitude necessary.
