CNC Milling Operator
Location: Sanborn, NY
The role of a CNC Milling Operator in Sanborn, NY involves programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling machines to produce precise parts within specified tolerances and deadlines.
Primary Responsibilities:
CNC Programming & Operating Machines (80%)
- Create and modify CNC programs using CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam and SolidWorks.
- Prepare and run CNC milling machines according to blueprints and specifications.
- Develop and construct fixtures for machining processes.
- Select and secure necessary tools, fixtures, and materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T requirements.
- Monitor machining procedures, make adjustments as needed, and inspect finished parts for accuracy.
Safety & Maintenance (10%)
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and maintain an organized workspace.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including proper machine operation and safe handling of materials.
Reporting & Miscellaneous (10%)
- Keep records of production and quality reports.
- Participate in training sessions and perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate degree in Manufacturing/Technical Programming OR completion of an apprenticeship OR company training.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a qualified machinist.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in CNC programming, setup, and operation.
- In-depth understanding of blueprints, GD&T, and machining processes.
- Experience with Mastercam, SolidWorks, and inspection tools.
- Strong mathematical skills including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with excellent time management and communication skills.
