HVAC and Electrical Systems Technician

Location: Clinton, IA

This position is for an HVAC and Electrical Systems Technician located in Clinton, IA. The main responsibilities include the maintenance of HVAC equipment, providing assistance to the maintenance electrician for daily industrial electrical maintenance tasks, and collaborating with other members of the maintenance shop.

We are seeking candidates with experience and skills in the following areas:

  • Conducting responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and state, federal, and local laws.
  • Performing preventative maintenance on various industrial and commercial equipment related to facilities, following the Manufacturer O&M requirements.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing HVAC equipment such as air handling units, condensers, compressors, water cooling towers, chillers, boilers, circulation pumps, motors, and associated systems (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic circuits).
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial HVAC systems.
  • Ability to perform building (plumbing and electrical) and equipment repairs using hand tools, power tools, and volt-ohm meter for electrical circuit troubleshooting.
  • Assembling components according to instructions or drawings and fabricating simple components, assemblies, or machine modifications.
  • Performing equipment maintenance activities such as lubrication, disassembling, overhauling, and replacing defective electrical components or mechanical parts with original manufacturer parts.
  • Submitting reports of completed preventative maintenance tasks to the Contract Maintenance Manager.
  • Sourcing and picking up ordered parts or supplies and restocking inventory as needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with equipment, safety, and OSHA regulations.
  • Adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • Assisting in training and coaching other mechanics.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge:

  • Standard operating procedures for equipment maintenance and safety regulations.
  • Technical expertise in commercial HVAC systems.
  • Building trades including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.
  • Troubleshooting skills for facilities, equipment, controls, and systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
