Industrial Food and Beverage Construction Manager

Location: South Boston, MA

We conduct material handling studies to ensure the proper sizing and configuration of processing and storage areas. We also offer site search, evaluation, and selection services. We are fully fluent in food safety best practices and food process engineering and utility infrastructure. With in-house architecture, engineering, and construction experts, we can handle all aspects of your project. We have a deep understanding of process flow, adjacencies, and material balance, and we are skilled in value engineering and open book pricing. We have a strong track record of delivering high six-figure utility company rebates and completing projects ahead of schedule and under budget.

Responsibilities:

As the Industrial Food and Beverage Construction Manager, you will be the primary client contact throughout the entire project delivery process. You will oversee the project from design concept through bidding, construction, and start-up, ensuring that the project's scope, cost, and schedule are met. Your responsibilities will include assisting in developing project scope, budget, schedule, and critical path elements. You will develop and maintain submittal and RFI processes, establish design criteria, review design and construction phase documents, and manage permit, code, and regulatory approvals. Additionally, you will develop procurement plans, evaluate potential project bidders, and manage the bid process. You will be responsible for developing and approving project deliverables, project communication, project outline specifications, conceptual layout, and medium engineering services proposals. You will also be responsible for managing project notes, monthly reports, project permitting needs, project forecasting, engineering deliverables, construction cost estimates, and monthly supplier invoices and client billing. Your role will involve organizing construction trades, administering subcontracts, managing the project budget and expense approvals, managing contracts and change orders, overseeing equipment installations, managing the project punch-list, and maintaining complete project records and close-out documents. You will also interact with the design, engineering, construction, sales, and marketing teams.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate with a BS in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering. You should have at least 5 years of experience within a design-build, General Contractor company, working with multiple in-house engineering disciplines, architects, and designers. You should also have at least 5 years of experience with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing industrial construction projects, preferably in the food and beverage or pharmaceutical industries. Additionally, you should have at least 5 years of experience with building construction, project scheduling, construction estimating, and construction safety. We are seeking a Project Manager with a proven track record of successful project management, delivering numerous projects on time, meeting requirements, and ensuring high team satisfaction. You should have a strong understanding of AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, MS Office, MS Project, and SharePoint. The job requires 50% overnight and local travel, with approximately 75-125 nights out of town annually.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position ranges from $125,000 to $150,000, with bonuses based on project profitability ranging from $10,000 to $180,000. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 70% coverage of health, dental, and vision insurance premiums, life and disability insurance, and a 401K plan with a company match of the first 3% of salary contributions. Other benefits include a home office setup, a $500 monthly car allowance, a gas card, and reimbursement for travel expenses and vacation. We also offer relocation assistance for qualified candidates.

Our projects are located throughout the US and typically last from 6 to 12+ months. We provide meal and lodging per diem, as well as reasonable travel provisions. As the Industrial Food and Beverage Construction Manager, you will typically be on-site during the week and home on weekends. However, there may be weeks when you can work from home based on project needs. This position requires 50% travel.
