Financial Controller

Our client, a startup with a focus on healthcare, is seeking a Financial Controller to join their team in Fort Myers, FL. They aim to provide exceptional healthcare experiences and maintain high-quality standards throughout the guest journey.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial individual to take on the role of Financial Controller. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for establishing and leading the finance function. In this role, you will develop and implement the organization's financial infrastructure, provide financial guidance and analysis to colleagues and investment partners, and ensure compliance with financial controls and regulations. Additionally, you will collaborate with other leaders on budgeting, reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

As the Financial Controller, you will also be responsible for selecting and managing HR information systems and handling tax returns and reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and Lead Finance Function: Oversee all accounting operations strategically and tactically, contributing to the development and maintenance of the profit and loss statement (P&L).
  • Financial Operations: Manage financial reporting, payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Corporate Treasurer Duties: Ensure sufficient cash management to support business growth.
  • Collaborate with Leadership: Develop business intelligence capabilities, resolve business issues, and support scaling efforts to achieve KPIs.
  • Decision Support: Utilize financial insights to assist company leaders with decision-making.
  • Information Requests: Provide organized and fact-based responses to support observations and conclusions.
  • Finance and HRIS Systems: Set up and oversee the company's Finance and HR Information Systems.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Accounting Knowledge: Deep understanding of accounting principles and practices.

  • Treasury Experience: Proficient in cash management functions.

  • Educational Background: BSc/BA in accounting or a relevant field; CPA is a plus but not required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years in a related role.
