Manufacturing Controls Technician

The role involves contributing to cell design, integrating controls, and installing automated equipment. The primary objective of the role is to enhance equipment efficiency and uptime through the following key duties:
RESPONSIBILITIES: (All duties are essential job functions, as per ADA guidelines, unless specified otherwise.)
Level I
- Undertake work involving pneumatics and compressed air principles.
- Handle tasks related to hydraulics and fluid mechanics.
- Work with circuits ranging from 120 to 480 volts and perform electrical tasks like AC/DC power and circuit board maintenance.
- Collaborate in the construction of automated equipment alongside engineers.
- Test control systems to ensure proper functionality before deployment.
Level II (Includes Level I Responsibilities)
- Execute plumbing tasks such as installation and interpretation of plumbing systems.
- Conduct electrical duties like using test equipment for measurements and troubleshooting.
- Install and program controls equipment in manufacturing settings.
- Address electrical and mechanical issues with automated equipment.
- Troubleshoot robotic systems utilizing knowledge of various technology components.
- Repair equipment by replacing defective components like circuit boards, sensors, and controllers.
Level III (Includes Level I & II Responsibilities)
- Install air logic controls and troubleshoot pneumatic systems as per prints or schematics.
- Diagnose hydraulic circuits containing various components like check valves and flow controls.
- Troubleshoot PLC systems using computers.
- Install, program, and repair controllers in manufacturing setups.
- Utilize knowledge of fabrication equipment to perform maintenance tasks.
- Operate and analyze equipment performance to achieve desired outcomes.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize equipment functionality.
- Conduct preventative maintenance activities such as upgrades and inspections.
- Repair machine controls, systems, and tools as required.
- Disassemble or reassemble equipment for parts replacement or repairs.
- Provide training on equipment installation, usage, and servicing to others.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Level I - High school diploma or equivalent with related experience or training.
- Level II - High school diploma or equivalent with two to four years of related experience or training.
- Level III - Technical training certificates or associate degree with six to eight years of related experience or training.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret documentation, write reports, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Capacity to analyze problems, gather data, and draw conclusions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
During the role, the employee will engage in various physical activities such as handling tools, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
