Corporate Director of Engineering


This position entails managing all Operational capital across the Company’s locations. The incumbent will be in charge of developing the annual and three-year capital plans, as well as providing engineering expertise and support to the operations and maintenance teams as needed.


  • Develop the annual and three-year capital plans by creating engineering and maintenance strategies, improving processes, defining individual projects, assigning budgetary costs, attending project support meetings, and supporting other departments.
  • Manage financial controls associated with capital projects and support operations and maintenance during project implementation.
  • Develop and implement capital projects by overseeing the project concept, determining equipment needs, negotiating with vendors, coordinating with personnel, and preparing capital expenditure reports.
  • Manage Operational capital across the Company’s locations.
  • Ensure delivery of capital projects on time and within budget through effective communication and execution.
  • Develop and maintain company engineering standards.
  • Develop and maintain company process improvement standards.
  • Promote and maintain corporate sustainability.

Minimum Requirements:


Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.


  • At least seven years of experience in food manufacturing, with a preference for liquid batching processing.
  • Prefer experience in flour milling, dry mix manufacturing, fresh and frozen bakery, and sweet good products.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to travel regularly to all facilities in North America, with up to 40% travel.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and project management skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Proficient computer skills in spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of equipment, products, and processes.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and possesses excellent interpersonal skills.


· Strong work ethic and ability to think strategically about capital projects and their alignment with business objectives and strategy.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise the performance of the Corporate Engineering Team, including decision-making on staffing needs, disciplinary actions, evaluation of work objectives and effectiveness, and realignment of projects and assignments as necessary.
