Responsibilities
We are seeking a Delivery Consultant who will be responsible for estimating and designing sustainable infrastructure projects. You will oversee the sales process, from project inception to contract signature, for our Upstate New York Area team. Working directly under the Development Manager, you will manage project resources, monitor workforce levels, and ensure adherence to the construction delivery plan. Additionally, you will handle change management, scope changes, and customer relationships for assigned projects.
As a Delivery Consultant, you will develop and represent the project execution plan, schedule, and budget to customers. You will collaborate with the Sales and Engineering team to secure customer contracts and build and maintain relationships with customers and subcontractors.
External Relationships:
As a SI Delivery Consultant, you will actively engage with local contracting community, industry organizations, and subcontractors. You will prioritize customer satisfaction during the Development and turnover phases of projects.
Internal Relationships:
· You will collaborate with the Development Team to establish and maintain a dominant position in the local market
· You will work closely with the Project Development Engineer on specific opportunities
· You will assist the SI Delivery Manager in planning for future resource needs and allocating resources to meet commitments
· You will assess development needs and partner with the SI Delivery Manager to assign Construction Managers for sales support activities
· You will act as a consultant to Construction Managers during the installation phase
· You will assist the Development Manager in financial planning and reporting
Description:
· You will provide input on vendor/partners selection, scope enhancements, value engineering, and risk assessment at the early stages of audit process
· You will handle cost estimating, project scheduling, and construction management for secured projects
· You will assist the Development team in negotiating favorable terms and develop billing and payment schedules
· You will ensure understanding of project scope and customer expectations throughout the project lifecycle
· You will plan and schedule development activities and demonstrate commercial and financial acumen
· You will build and maintain long-term relationships with customers and subcontractors
· You will assist in project delivery planning, resource allocation, and risk assessment
· You will communicate project status to the Development Manager
· You will foster good working relationships with subcontractors and JCI internal partners
· You will ensure compliance with legal requirements and ethical standards
· You will champion contract and code compliance for subcontracted scope
· You will participate in project post-mortem and contribute to continuous improvement
· You will assist in setting up projects in MyWork and promote safety policies
Productivity Measurements:
As a Delivery Consultant, your responsibilities include providing labor estimates, subcontractor estimates, and risk/proficiency contributions to meet secured margin objectives. You are also responsible for negotiating the final Schedule of Values (SOV) for billing and payment terms. Key productivity measurements for this role include project profitability, project cash flow, and tool utilization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent work experience.
- Ten or more years of progressively responsible operations management experience in the Installation Industry, preferably in the energy solutions industry, with at least five years of direct management experience.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills, including the ability to speak to large audiences.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional and cross-business unit project teams.
- Experience in leading, managing, mentoring, and inspiring others.
- Excellent negotiation, persuasion, and influencing skills.
- Proficiency in software scheduling tools and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.
- High level of project management process competencies.
- Familiarity with cloud-based business applications and collaboration tools.
