What we are looking for:
• Registered Dietitian.
• Completion of a five-year college or university program, or two (2) to four (4) years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Hours and potential compensation:
• Position primarily involves Monday to Friday day shift.
• Salary range is $62,000 to $75,000, depending on experience. A comprehensive benefits package is offered, including up to $5,000 for relocation.

• Oversee and provide guidance on therapeutic diets and meal services for patients in hospitals, clinics, or other healthcare facilities, by performing the following tasks:
  • Conduct nutrition assessments and obtain nutrition history from patients as necessary.
  • Consult with physicians and other healthcare personnel to determine patients' nutritional needs and dietary restrictions, such as low fat or salt-free diets.
  • Formulate menus for therapeutic diets based on patients' medical and physical conditions, and integrate patients' menus with basic institutional menus.
  • Develop and implement care plans based on assessments of nutritional needs and available resources, and coordinate plans with other healthcare providers.
  • Run diet reports and prioritize inpatients based on their nutritional needs before beginning daily rounds.
  • Assess skilled patients and create nutrition care plans within established time frames.
  • Schedule and conduct outpatient teaching within established time frames, bill for services, and send reports to ordering primary care physicians.
  • Consult with physicians/nurses to clarify unclear orders and meet the needs of dietary staff.
  • Maintain and organize files and instructional materials, documenting and conducting food/drug interactions and teaching as needed.
  • Attend care plan and dietary meetings, providing input on nutrition issues.
  • Initiate calorie counts if necessary/ordered and record calories and protein intake for three days.
  • Instruct patients and/or family members promptly and/or within three days of receiving a diet referral.
  • Develop and recommend feeding and supplement schedules.
  • Create clear, up-to-date, and concise instructional materials, including samples of meals.
  • Check supplies of commonly ordered supplements with the Dietary Manager, re-ordering through the Pharmacy as needed for special items.
  • Calculate diet and meal patterns, educating the dietary staff on any changes.
  • Document 90-day reviews for all long-term care residents at consulting facilities.
  • Provide consulting services as outlined in contracts.
  • Offer in-services as requested by Sodexo and consulting facilities.
  • Communicate nutrition care plans and other significant information to appropriate individuals, promptly notifying the supervisor of any unusual incidents within the area of responsibility.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate ethical conduct in accordance with hospital policy, ensuring no valid complaints arise.
  • Instruct patients about meal plans and dietary changes, establishing goals and objectives to help meet the plan.
  • Document nutrition care plans and information in patients' medical records.
