Manufacturing Development Director
Position: Director of Business Development - Manufacturing
Location: Danville, VA
Our company, located in Danville, VA, is seeking a Manufacturing Development Director with a background in Business Development to drive growth and success for our diverse business.
This individual will be responsible for driving new business development, creating strategic plans, implementing effective marketing strategies, and ensuring industry/partner satisfaction to support both short-term and long-term growth.
We are looking for a visionary leader with a strong background in Business Development, particularly in IT, federal contracts, and higher education administration.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute a marketing and sales strategy for offering manufacturing solutions to various industries.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders, including government agencies, prime contractors, suppliers, and industry associations.
- Create and implement strategic and tactical plans to target new customers, platforms, projects, and programs.
- Identify potential business opportunities and maintain an active pipeline.
- Track and measure activity to ensure successful execution of the strategic plan.
- Respond to RFPs in a timely manner.
- Manage proposal efforts and contract reviews.
- Ensure business and government compliance.
- Promote the company's capabilities to the industry.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent real-life experience.
- Master's degree in engineering or MBA, preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in account or program management.
- Defense experience with knowledge of defense acquisition processes, government contracting, and regulatory requirements required.
- Technical experience in manufacturing.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and market research tools.
- Strong presentation skills with experience presenting to senior-level audiences.
Additional REQUIREMENTS
- Travel requirement: 50%.
- Due to contracts with the United States Government, candidates must be either US Citizens or US Permanent Residents.
