Position: Director of Business Development - Manufacturing

Location: Danville, VA

Medium size business in the Danville area with Manufacturing Solutions is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead the growth of this diverse business.

The individual in this role will be responsible for driving new business development, strategic planning, marketing, and ensuring satisfaction among industry partners to support both short-term and long-term growth.

We are searching for a visionary leader with a strong background in Business Development, particularly in IT, federal contracts, and higher education administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement a marketing and sales strategy for providing manufacturing solutions to industry
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in industry, including government agencies, prime contractors, suppliers, and industry associations
• Create and execute a strategic and tactical plan to pursue new customers, platforms, projects, and programs
• Identify and cultivate a pipeline of potential business opportunities
• Track and measure activity related to the strategic plan
• Respond to RFPs in a timely manner
• Manage proposal efforts and contract reviews
• Maintain compliance with business and government regulations
• Represent and promote the company's capabilities to potential clients

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
• Master's degree in engineering or MBA preferred
• At least 10 years of experience in account or program management
• Strong knowledge of defense acquisition processes, government contracting, and regulatory requirements
• Technical experience in the field of manufacturing
• Proficiency in CRM systems and market research tools
• Experience presenting at a senior level

• Travel: 50%
• Due to contracts with the United States Government, candidates must be either US Citizens or US Permanent Residents
