Pharmacy Director

What we're looking for:- Registered pharmacist and licensed in Kansas
- Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy
- Must have a PharmD
- At least 2 years of pharmacy management or leadership experience
- Personal attributes: professional, prompt, accurate, courteous, collaborative, respectful, attention to detail, team player
- Full-time position
- Salary range: $127,000-$200,000, depending on experience
- Comprehensive benefit package and possible relocation/sign-on bonus
- Direct and coordinate activities and functions of the hospital pharmacy
- Develop procedures in hospital pharmacy according to policies and legal requirements
- Analyze records to identify prescribing trends and report to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
- Prepare pharmacy budget and department reports for hospital administrators
- Advise hospital physicians and mid-levels on drug applications and characteristics
- Ensure safe, legal, and ethical practices through quality assurance techniques
- Manage daily activities and staffing needs
- Provide appropriate pharmaceutical care by equipping staff with necessary skills and equipment
- Coordinate medication administration and maintain accurate records
- Promptly respond to requests and inquiries from healthcare professionals and patients
- Utilize CPOE for physician orders
- Supervise medication refills and controlled substance security
- Manage pharmaceutical and supply ordering and inventory control
- Assist in the maintenance of the 340B drug program
- Review and revise department policies and procedures
- Coordinate clinical pharmacy services, including drug information, therapy monitoring, patient education, code blue situations, and staff education
- Maintain necessary licenses and comply with regulatory requirements
- Coordinate drug recalls and dispose of outdated medications
Our facility is an acute care hospital with less than 50 beds and operates as a nonprofit organization. The previous Director has relocated to a larger facility. In this hands-on Director role, you will lead a team of 6 full-time employees and one part-time employee. The department is located in a secured room within the nursing wing.
