District Operations Manager / Transportation & Collection

This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day collection operations of a single site with multiple Lines of Business. The District Operations Manager establishes and maintains performance and productivity metrics and cost management processes and is also responsible for the Profit and Loss (P&L). The role will directly oversee Route Managers.

Job Functions

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the District, providing support to drivers to ensure safety, service, and cost savings
  • Implement necessary precautions to ensure compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations
  • Conduct thorough investigations for all injuries and incidents, providing coaching and retraining as needed
  • Oversee personnel needs, including hiring, coaching, disciplining, training, and evaluating employees
  • Set short-term and long-term goals and action plans in collaboration with senior management
  • Participate in P&L reviews to ensure budgets are met and implement programs to optimize equipment utilization and labor costs
  • Interact with local agencies to ensure customer satisfaction, improve efficiency, renew contracts, and negotiate new contracts

Education:
Minimum of an Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory and/or P&L role (in addition to education requirement).

  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record throughout employment

This position requires experience in at least two of the following areas: operations, customer service, community relations, health and safety, financial and human resource functions, and supervision or management. Experience in implementing safety programs, managing budgets, and resolving labor relations issues is also required.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are seeking candidates with experience in the Telecom, Rail, Mining, Quarry, or Oil & Gas industries. The ideal candidate must have experience managing people and budgets, specifically P&L experience. Budgets for this role can range from $150 million to $250 million depending on the site. In addition, this person should be comfortable with community outreach efforts to promote our company and build the site's business.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
