Nursing Education Director

Job Description

General Responsibilities: In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the nursing program. You will assist the Administrative Nursing Director and Chief Academic Officer in various aspects of the program and special projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, manage, update, and evaluate all aspects of the program
  • Prepare data and written materials for state and Nursing Board requirements
  • Report termination of faculty members to the Board
  • Identify and obtain outside resources for the nursing program
  • Develop and implement program policies and procedures
  • Organize and participate in committees
  • Oversee admission process and orientation
  • Act as a liaison between the community and the college
  • Develop and maintain educational partnerships with clinical sites
  • Conduct thorough clinical site evaluations
  • Maintain evaluations by students, clinical site representatives, and faculty
  • Update and maintain clinical contracts
  • Participate in nursing faculty recruitment, hiring, and orientation
  • Facilitate nursing faculty meetings
  • Schedule faculty assignments and monitor instruction quality
  • Provide advising and support to potential students
  • Participate in recruitment and admission planning
  • Ensure completion of necessary documentation for graduation and licensing exam
  • Participate in Nursing Advisory Committee meetings
  • Attend professional development activities and maintain CE hours
  • Maintain current knowledge of State rules and regulations


  • Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 3 years experience leading a nursing program
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a full-time faculty in a nursing program
  • Minimum of 1 year experience teaching in an online environment
  • Minimum of 4 years of continuous full-time experience as a registered nurse
  • Must hold a valid, active license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Action oriented, innovative thinking, and flexible
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work within deadlines
