EHS Manager

Location: North Las Vegas, NV

Our company specializes in printing industry products, such as cartons, booklets, and inserts for well-known brand clients. We are currently seeking an EHS Manager to support our large, 2-shift plant in North Las Vegas, NV. With over 300 employees, this role will play a crucial part in maintaining and improving our operations in the areas of health, safety, and environmental concerns.

The ideal candidate should be familiar with the implementation and external accreditation audit processes of HSE management systems, including ISO9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 50001.

The main objective of this role is to support the Divisional HSE Manager in leading our company through the certification process to achieve ISO9001 certification. Additionally, the EHS Manager will be responsible for conducting internal HSE audits, providing competent advice and guidance to site management, and developing a culture of positive HSE practices within our plants. Previous experience with the certification process is highly desirable!

  • Travel between two local plants as needed
  • Provide competent HSE advice and guidance to site management, including participating in regular site HSE reviews and daily site management meetings
  • Promote/develop a positive HSE culture within the assigned sites
  • Ensure assigned site(s) remain compliant with all applicable ISO 9001 and HSE legislation
  • Undertake and manage a program of internal HSE inspections and audits
  • Maintain HSE compliance calendars and maintain Regional HSE compliance
  • Participate in the investigation of employee concerns, HSE Incidents, and Employee Observations/Near Misses, along with corrective action development, implementation, and follow-up, providing detailed feedback of findings and advice

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, with relevant professional qualifications and accreditations (e.g. GradIOSH, AIEMA, Member of ASSE)
  • A proven track record and ability to engage employees
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a health, safety, and environment role in a manufacturing/chemical industry
  • Knowledgeable on HSE Legislation and Environmental Initiatives (e.g. CRC, CDP, ESOS)
  • Knowledge and experience of undertaking accident investigations and machinery safety assessments
  • Experience in developing and undertaking internal ISO inspections and audits
  • Experience in developing and implementing site-level ISO9001 and improvement programs
