Position: Environmental Health and Safety Manager

A well-known company has an exciting opportunity available for an EHS Manager at their Cincinnati location. This role is crucial in meeting the needs of customers nationwide. As an EHS Manager, you will report directly to the Plant Manager and be responsible for overseeing the implementation of Environment, Health, and Safety programs at the plant to ensure minimal environmental impact and a safe work environment. You will lead a team in supporting EHS initiatives and provide training for managers and employees on workplace safety and environmental practices. Your expertise will contribute to the development of a strong EHS culture through technical support, program development, and collaborations. This position offers excellent company benefits, including a 401K plan with a generous match, a potential bonus of 15%, and 168 hours of PTO (with monthly accrual that can be used in advance). Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of environmental, health, safety, and sustainable development programs.
  • Promote plant safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainability by analyzing current practices and recommending improvements to various departments.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, corporate guidelines, and other relevant requirements.
  • Assist in accident investigations and prepare necessary reports for regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct inspections and audits at the plant and other facilities to identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures.
  • Active participation in the Safety Committee process and provide support to subcommittees.
  • Handle initial workers' compensation functions.
  • Coordinate compliance training to meet OSHA, EPA, and company standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years of industrial safety experience
  • 3 years of EHS management experience
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, federal, and state regulations
  • Experience in risk assessments and audits
  • Experience in food process manufacturing would be advantageous
