Environmental Health and Safety Specialist
We are seeking a passionate Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team in Schiller Park, IL. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on workplace safety. Your main responsibility will be to create a secure and healthy work environment. As part of our team, you will work directly with the Vice President of Human Resources and collaborate with the management team to promote EHS best practices and foster a safety-first culture.
- Conduct engaging training sessions on health and safety policies to ensure practical application and engagement.
- Perform regular inspections with great attention to detail, identifying potential hazards and addressing EHS violations
- Implement dynamic health and safety protocols to ensure compliance and elevate our safety standards
- Prepare detailed incident reports and health and safety manuals
- Report incidents and compliance status to management and regulatory agencies
- Stay up-to-date on the latest EHS trends, policies, regulations, and best practices
- Lead the company safety committee
- Embrace additional responsibilities with enthusiasm and a collaborative mindset
- Propose and implement solutions and intervention strategies for hygiene, health, and safety hazards
- Document incidents and accidents and create comprehensive health and safety manuals
- Share incidents and compliance status with management, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary
Education & Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field
- Minimum of two years' experience as an EHS specialist or coordinator
- Detailed knowledge of relevant regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and ANSI
- Ability to read and interpret safety data sheets
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
