Job Summary of the Electrical and Automation Engineering Manager: We are seeking to hire an Electrical and Automation Engineering Manager to join our Engineering team. In this hands-on role, you will collaborate with risk management, EHS, engineering, and manufacturing teams to identify patterns and implement preventive measures to minimize product and process failures.

Job Responsibilities of the Electrical and Automation Engineering Manager:

o Ensure timely completion of Controls and Automation design tasks.

o Review and approve ECOs, design packages, bills of materials, firmware/software, math data, and other technical documents.

o Provide leadership and expertise to the Controls and Automation team.

o Assist other engineering teams, offering electrical and automation engineering expertise for large cross-functional projects.

o Support research and development activities.

o Review design risk assessment, verification, and validation activities as necessary.

o Design and validate embedded hardware systems, schematics, and PCB assemblies; develop and validate embedded software in C.

o Program microcontrollers and PLCs for processing I/O signals and ensuring reliable, error-free communication.

o Review Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and provide support to address root causes and resolve issues.

o Coordinate engineering activities across all engineering teams in collaboration with the Director of Engineering and Engineering Managers.

o Manage a team of Electrical Engineers, Automation Engineers, and Application Engineers who support our Control and Automation products.

Education & Experience of the Electrical and Automation Engineering Manager:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
  • 3 - 7 years of experience managing and leading technical staff as an engineering manager, supervisor, or other technical team lead.
  • Experience with electrical system design and regulatory compliance according to UL, IEC, FCC, and similar standards.
  • Extensive knowledge of embedded system design, firmware, and software code creation, review, and control.
  • Experience with EPLAN Electric P8, Altium Designer, and development of embedded software in C.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while ensuring high productivity to meet project deadlines.
  • Desirable knowledge of programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, and Industrial Ethernet communication protocols.
