Position Overview:

The position of Automation Engineer in Lagrange, GA involves the creation of electrical schematics and designs using computer-aided design equipment and programming software. The engineer will work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure that designs meet production requirements and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop electrical design concepts, including panels and assembly drawings, and create electrical bills of materials.
• Specify control equipment with a focus on safety, functionality, and equipment protection.
• Review sales orders, customer specifications, and related documents to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
• Prepare and manage forms related to project releases, including partial, final, and revision releases, customer adjustments, and approval prints.
• Collaborate with plant and field representatives to resolve design-related issues.
• Provide support to various departments, including EMP, Customer Service, and Proposals.
• Work closely with Mechanical Engineers to ensure cohesive design and operational functionality.
• Expedite releases to meet delivery timelines or address machine issues.
• Design, implement, and verify PLC and HMI programs.
• Coordinate with other departments to resolve issues related to aftermarket business, including part loading/classification and technical support.
• Engage in special projects and additional duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in a related field.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical software.
• Strong skills in PC applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with programming AB, Siemens, and C-more PLCs and HMI software.
• Knowledge of UL standards, NFPA 70, 70E, and 79.
• Familiarity with industrial controls (sensors, motors, AC/DC drives, servo controllers, etc.).
• Background in equipment/machinery (preferred).
• Knowledge of Ethernet and Modbus communication (preferred).
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
