Electrical Forensics Engineer – Tennessee

We have partnered with a highly regarded forensic engineering organization in search of a skilled Electrical Forensics Engineer to join their expanding team in Nashville, TN. Responsibilities:

As an Electrical Forensics Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to investigate failures in electrical systems and damage to equipment. This will involve conducting on-site assessments, performing root cause analysis, assessing electrical and mechanical systems, and preparing comprehensive and defensible reports for clients in the legal, insurance, and industrial sectors.

You will also:

  • Assess solar power systems (if applicable)

  • Analyze damaged electrical infrastructure and equipment

  • Evaluate corrosion, materials, and mechanical properties

  • Estimate repair or replacement costs

  • Collaborate with clients, attorneys, and colleagues

  • Manage multiple complex projects from start to finish

  • Provide deposition or expert witness testimony (if experienced)


Requirements:

Technical Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's degree preferred)

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure in a Southeastern U.S. state (or eligible within 6 months)

  • At least 3 years of experience in forensic investigation and reporting (preferred)

  • Familiarity with failure analysis, industrial systems, and equipment

  • Experience with solar power systems is highly desirable

  • Prior experience as an expert witness or in deposition is highly valued

  • Proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD, MathCAD, and MS Office
