We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our award-winning consulting engineering firm. Overview of the Role

In this position, you will utilize your expertise in electrical engineering to design concepts and options that align with the vision of each project owner. You should have a strong understanding of the consulting engineering process and contractual documents involved in the field.

Responsibilities

- Determine the scope of assigned projects and use software programs to create electrical system designs, including lighting, power distribution, emergency generation systems, fire alarm, security, and other electrical systems

- Create cost-effective system layouts, sizes, and specifications while ensuring compliance with applicable codes

- Prepare and layout BIM drawings and coordinate with other disciplines at all phases of project production

- Perform construction administration tasks such as site observations and review of shop drawings

- Define project scope accurately and proactively manage any potential scope variations to ensure client satisfaction and project success

- Maintain strong relationships and effective communication with clients, partners, architects, owners, and other professionals involved in the projects

- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced electrical engineers/designers

- Handle additional assigned duties as necessary

Qualifications

- Must be authorized to work in the United States and based in either Tampa, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Austin, Nashville, or Atlanta

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering management and design of commercial buildings, preferably in areas such as aviation, higher education, healthcare, hospitality, entertainment, or governmental facilities

- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required; registration should be in the state(s) where projects will be constructed

- Minimum of 7 years of experience leading and coordinating multi-discipline engineering teams

- Familiarity with different project deliverable methods, including design-build, design-bid-construct, and fast-track

- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of local, state, and national codes and regulations affecting engineering practice

- Proficiency in Revit MEP and familiarity with other engineering software programs

- Excellent technical/computer skills, including Microsoft O365, internet applications, and web-based tools

- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

- Ability to prepare original specifications and evaluate various engineering options for system configuration

- Experience with cost containment and reduction approaches in engineering

Physical Requirements
